Brief history
1956 establishment of IPCM (Engineering Institute for Machine Building) - institute for coordination and engineering for machine building field, extended to electronics and electro-techniques design; 1973 two organizations are split out of IPCM: ICTSC (research and engineering for heat treatment, forging sectors) & ICTCM (cold processing); 1985 division of IPCM into three engineering centers, one of which is Engineering Center for Machine Building Industries (CITPCM) acting as General Contractor for the enterprises within the field; 1991 establishment of IPCM under the Government Decision no. 701/10.10.1991 originating from CITPCM. For about 200 different plants inside and outside of Romania IPCM has performed: feasibility studies, market surveys, valuation reports; land surveys, civil works; general layout drawings; detailed planning for all machinery and equipment, including design, calculation and specification; industrial buildings, office buildings, stores; indoors and outdoors utility systems (electricity, gas, water, heat); social buildings and other structures; precincts road systems, sewage and disposal systems During the last years plant modernization, extension of production capacities and wide range of consulting services completed the above activities.

In the Technical Department we are mainly working with diploma engineers from the various technical fields, like mechanical and chemical process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, measuring & control engineering, utilities, automotive engineering, ship building and repairing, aircraft industry, architects and civil engineers, site erection specialists as well as specialized engineers for computer aided project works. The employees in the field of Consulting are mainly economical engineers, economists, financial specialists, marketing experts, legal advisors as well as specialists for restructuring - privatization problems.
